2022 Hybrid & 2020 Virtual Allied Media Conference (AMC)

In-person (2022) & Online (2020) Accessibility Coordinator

In 2022, Ani was responsible for planning and coordinating in person accessibility for ~100 in-person guests at Marygrove College, and the ~200 attendees who participated in “AMC at Nite” events at Eastern Market and MOCAD. This including hybrid considerations for content streamed into on site locations

In spite of the challenges Covid-19 brought to event and spatial planning, it gave media and conference organizers fresh inspiration to improve how people could be brought together online. Acting as the 2020 AMC Access Coordinator, for 5,000 online attendees, Ani worked to guide strategic decisions on platform choice and general operations, prepare session facilitators to consider access, and write communications such as the Access Statement for the conference website. She also hired and managed ASL and Spanish interpreters, CART and captioning providers and more. Ani acted both as liaison to the production team that managed many of the “main events” streamed publicly on YouTube in three languages, and a coordinator for ~80 sessions for pre-registered attendees.
